Total Knee Arthroplasty with LCS Knee Prosthesis

Abstract

|
The Low Contact Stress(LCS) knee prosthesis was reported that had low contact stress and low constrained force.
Authors used the LCS knee prosthesis in 39 patients(49 knees) during March 1991 to February 1994 with mean 1.8 years follow-up at Dong-A Medical Center.
The Hospital for special surgery knee scale, the range of motion, and radiographic evaluation were used for final assessment.
The knee score was increased from average 46.6 points preoperatively to 82.4 points postoperatively. The range of motion was increased from average 109 degrees preoperatively to 121 degrees postoperatively.
The femoro-tibial angle was average 6.3°valgus postoperativley. We report that good results were obtained in the patients who had arthroplasties with the LCS prosthesis.
